Editorial September 2012

It’s that time of year when the slowed pace of the Summer has worn off, your office is no longer in upheaval with vacations being taken and people are finally able to take stock of where projects stand after a couple months of sporadic attention.  It’s also officially the Fall, which means Year End is fast approaching and there are targets to hit while it’s still 2012.  The combined effect can make Sept/Oct one of the busiest and stressful times of the year but for me it’s one of my favorites.  When else do you have opportunity after opportunity to eliminate big concerns for your client?

Over the years with PTNA I have come to see the Fall as our best time to make friends.  Nothing helps like alleviating stress and when you have spent your year looking at adhesive and material combinations in an effort to find one that works, it’s nice to encounter a technology that makes that success possible, often with options that had previously been cast aside.  Plasma broadens the selection of materials that will bond to each other and typically improves the end result as well.  When you have gone through a catalog of adhesive trying to find a winner it’s nice to hear the low-cost one you’d hoped to use in the first place may still be on the table!

So bring us ‘your tired, your poor, your huddled [materials] yearning to breathe free’, atmospheric plasma may be just the start they need.
